  • Where can I buy your art?  Right now my artwork is only available in my poetry books.
  • What’s your history as a creative artist?   I’ve always been interested in writing and started creative writing in primary school and have continued that practice all along, although it’s only been recently that I’ve become more public with my poetry.   Artwork, specifically illustration and design, has been my mainstay since the early 1980’s, and after high school I attended the Art Institute of Seattle and graduated with a degree in graphic design and illustration in 1987.  Then came a long phase of freelance work both as an artist and designer, with assignments including illustrating for books, magazines, newspapers, greeting card companies and the like, as well as various design projects for small businesses like logos and advertising design.

For the first part of my illustration career I was mainly using traditional painting and drawing tools, but for the last 15 years I have been a digital artist, using the modern tools of the trade to do illustration and graphic design.

I’m currently publishing my poetry and art books in partnership with Amazon.

  • Do you paint with watercolors, because some of your art looks like a watercolor painting.  I make digital art that’s similar to the style of watercolor.

  • Could you explain more about how you make digital art, and  is your art “original”?   My digital art is my original creation.  The process is complicated and diverse, but the short answer is I use my own photographs for reference and depending on the look I’m going for I use different digital paint brushes and also a huge variety of other tools and ways to make my art.

  • Why did you decide to become a digital artist instead of a traditional painter?   I was a traditional painter and illustrator for the first part of my career and about 15 years ago I began using digital tools. I love the versatility and the ease of making changes to a digital image, and it’s just really fun for me.

Coming back home now.

Realizing the water,

taking the sky,

and the heart flying over the woods.

The Book Is Here
If nature could speak, her language would be “Water, Woods and Sky”.
